Mark David Mwine

Mark (Ugandan) holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Small and Micro Enterprises from Makerere University Business School, Makerere University Kampala and a Bachelor of Arts Social Sciences (Majoring in Political Science and Public Administration).

Mark has over 20 years of experience in business planning, strategic planning and capacity building for small and micro enterprises. In this area supported the establishment of several enterprises for communities supporting conservation and livelihood improvement as well as micro credit for small and micro enterprises as a tool for poverty alleviation and entrepreneurship in Uganda and beyond.

Mark has consulted extensively in dairy and agribusiness;  and has established accumulated savings credit associations, instituted organizational capacity / training needs assessment and tailored capacity building plans and training for identified capacity and skill needs; as well as conducted Socioeconomic surveys, baseline studies and economic evaluation/business feasibility.

In his consulting work, Mark has community private sector partnerships for sustainable revenue streams to community projects. He is experienced in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local partners, and collaborators including national and local government authorities, Community based organizations, NGOs and private sector service provider companies; and possess extensive experience in negotiating, developing, and monitoring sub-grant/ service provider contracts and consultancies

He has facilitated governance systems development for conservation groups and conservation business ventures in Rwanda, DRC and Uganda for enhanced community based natural resource management. He is adept in various aspects of project leadership and project cycle management including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of multi-faceted development and conservation projects; where he has consistently employed and energized a compatible management style utilizing financial   best practices, organizational abilities, monitoring and evaluation to achieve bottom line results and meet organizational goals and donor requirements.

He too has designed and carried out research, baseline/ social/ economic/ market surveys, and programme/project evaluations/impact studies to feed into planning and lessons learnt for projects, NGOs, government and CBOs.
